Abstract
The use of the lateral branch of the omohyoideus muscle as a model fast-twitch preparation for rats of all ages is described. Uniform fiber type, simple muscle geometry and small thickness permit measurement of mechanical and metabolic properties, average sarcomere movements and unequivocal interpretation of the results. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
