Abstract
The greater part of the pregnandiol, both free and combined, is removed from human pregnancy by adsorption on benzoic acid, the optimum reaction being between pH 2.5 and 2. The combined pregnandiol thus adsorbed is best hydrolysed by boiling with 0.25 N HC1 for 2 hr. Pregnandiol appears to be destroyed by evaporation of the urine at 100[degree] in an open vessel.
