Two potometers, constructed on the same general plan, are descr. Both types are suited for studies of exudation; one for absorption and exudation. Both types will accommodate straight roots without laterals; one may be used for roots with lateral branches. The potometers are adapted for use within an enclosed space and may be almost totally immersed in a water bath.
