Abstract
The evidence for the quantitative nature of the curative pigeon test has been examined. The conditions necessary for good results are enumerated. To avoid the occurrence of abnormal results, due in part to the influence of the previous period of feeding, standardization upon a laboratory diet previous to rice feeding is recommended. Symptoms appear in 14-28 days after the beginning of rice feeding. Variations of [plus or minus]40% may be expected when pigeons are selected at random for the tests. A summary of methods of feeding pigeons is appended. This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
