Moulding a honeycomb framework around [Co(η5-C5H5)2]+ via charge-assisted C–H···O hydrogen bonds

Abstract

Strong O–H···O hydrogen bonds between [(Hta)(H ₂ ta)] ^- anions derived from D,L-tartaric acid [H ₂ ta] hold together a honeycomb superanion templated around the cation [Co(η ⁵ -C ₅ H ₅ ) ₂ ] ⁺ via charge-assisted C–H···O hydrogen bonds.
