The comparative transpiration rates of Citrus leaf cuttings were highest for Eureka lemon, least for Valencia orange, and intermediate for grapefruit. The rate of water loss from detached leaves occurred in the same order; 2-3 times as much water was transpired through the ventral as through the dorsal leaf surface.
