The authors confirm the utility of the method of differentiating Shigella spp. described by Wood et al. (Jour. Bact. 46: 106-107. See B.A. 18(1): entry 1113) and Wood and Baird (Jour. Fish Res. Bd. Canada 6: 194-201).
