The repulsive potential between two normal He atoms has been calculated theoretically. In order to include the effect of deformation of the atomic orbitals, a wave function similar to those used by Inui and Nordsieck (Ref. 1 and 2) in their calculations of the H2 molecule is composed, from which the repulsive potential is obtained. The result is: Comparison with potential curves obtained by various theories and by experiment is made. Discussions and illustrations concerning the nature of AO's here obtained are given.
