Abstract
The Rouse‐Beuche spring model has been used to study the mean square radius of ring and chain molecules with increasing local chain stiffness and excluded volume. The mean square radius is represented by a three parameter equation, and it has been observed that both types of molecules obey the same exponent relation between the mean square radius and the molecular weight. The ratio of mean square radius of ring to chain molecules has been investigated, and it has been concluded that, for long chain molecules, this ratio behaves independently of local chain stiffness and slightly increases as the excluded volume parameter increases. Keywords
