Cross Sections for theC12(π−, π−n)C11andCu65(p, pπ+)Ni65Reactions

Abstract

The total cross sections for simple particle-transfer reactions like ${\mathrm{C}}^{12}({\pi }^{-}, {\pi }^{-}n){\mathrm{C}}^{11}$ and ${\mathrm{Cu}}^{65}(p, p{\pi }^{+}){\mathrm{Ni}}^{65}$ are shown to be markedly affected by kinematical momentum-transfer-dependent factors. Inclusion of these factors gives cross sections in good agreement with experiment.
