Abstract
Experience in 40 operated cases of ascending thrombophlebitis in the saphena magna and parva regions has shown that spreading to the deep venous system is fairly common, occurring in 32% of the cases. It is found that operation, phlebectomy or stripping, generally prevents this spreading to the deep veins. Recovery has been found to be slightly more rapid after phlebectomy. Keywords
