Abstract
Numerical variation of chromosome numbers was found in 3 colchicine induced hexaploid hybrids 6x(N. tabacum x N. sylvestris), 6x(N. tabacum x N. otophora), 6x(N. tabacum x N. tomentosiformis), their pentaploid derivatives, a tetraploid hybrid of the cross N. tabacum x 4x(N. sylvestris x N. otophora) and the natural species N. tabacum It appeared that polyploidy, hybridity, genotype, and aneuploidy all contributed to the aggravation of instability which already exists in the natural species N. tabacum.
