Abstract
Numerical variation of chromosome numbers was found in 3 colchicine induced hexaploid hybrids 6x(N. tabacum x N. sylvestris), 6x(N. tabacum x N. otophora), 6x(N. tabacum x N. tomentosiformis), their pentaploid derivatives, a tetraploid hybrid of the cross N. tabacum x 4x(N. sylvestris x N. otophora) and the natural species N. tabacum It appeared that polyploidy, hybridity, genotype, and aneuploidy all contributed to the aggravation of instability which already exists in the natural species N. tabacum. Keywords
