Abstract
A case of hyperparathyroidism associated with coexistent Paget''s disease of the bone is presented. The roentgenologic and bone biopsy findings were those of Paget''s disease, bt hypercalcemia, hypophosphatemia and abnormal phosphorous reabsorption and clearance tests lead to surgical exploration of the neck. A chief cell adenoma of one of the parathyroid glands was removed, following which there was prompt return to normal of the calcium and phosphorus aberrations. Hyperparathyroidism and Paget''s disease manifest many clinical and laboratory similarities. Attempts in the past to relate the two disorders have been unsuccessful. The coexistence of the two disorders in the presented case is regarded as coincidental. Keywords
