Abstract
A case is reported of an infant with multiple congenital anomalies including severe mental retardation. These features are associated with a chromosome number of 47, the extra chromosome being a small acrocentric structure in the 21-22 size range. This could be interpreted either as being an example of trisomy of chromosome 22 or as being a centric fragment of a larger chromosome. Keywords
