VITAMIN A AS AN ANTI-INFECTIVE AGENT

Abstract
As determined by macroscopic, and to a limited extent by microscopic, examination, rats fed on vitamin A deficient diet developed numerous and varied lesions due to infective organisms. Lack of other vitamins did not produce this result. It is suggested that vitamin A may play an important part in determining resistance to infection in man.
