Abstract
Bovine feces from animals on different diets were exposed to the face fly, Musca autumnalis De Geer, for oviposition and larval development. Samples of the feces were also oven dried to determine moisture content. The range in moisture content was narrow, and no correlation of moisture with diet could be demonstrated. Feces from animals on diets containing alfalfa were most attractive for face fly oviposition, as measured by total number of pupae produced.
