LIMBIC EPILEPSY IN CHILDHOOD

Abstract
An analysis is presented of the clinical and eeg manifestations in 120 children with an epilepsy heretofore regarded as psychomotor or temporal lobe. The phenomena are derived from more specific involvement of the structures of the limbic system and the generic designation of limbic seizures or limbic epilepsy is therefore considered more applicable to the disturbed physiological state. Data exemplifying the more visceral-autonomic and generalized eeg involvement of the young, immature subject as contrasted with the adult are pr esented.
