Primary Localized Amyloidosis of Trachea

Abstract
A 52-year-old man with primary localized amyloidosis of the trachea and parameatal skin of the glans penis also had a seminoma which did not contain amyloid. Subsequent necropsy revealed absence of amyloid of the systemic primary or secondary types of multiple myeloma. Of the 25 previously reported patients with primary localized amyloidosis of the tracheobronchial tree, the amyloid was confined to the trachea in two, to the bronchus in nine, and in the other 14 involved both the trachea and bronchus. Their mean age was 53 years. There is no sex predilection and the symptomatology was nonspecific.
