Abstract
An analytical method is developed for modeling the magnetic field or the gravitational attraction of a homogenous, arbitrarily shaped, three‐dimensional body. In this method, the body to be modeled is represented by a polyhedron composed of triangular facets. A convenient method for inputting the apices and assembling the facets of a polyhedron is developed. As the solution is analytic, the polyhedron facets can be any size, and the number of input points depends only upon the number of apices required to outline the body.
