Abstract
Bile fistula or jaundiced rats maintained on normal or vit. K-free basal diets exhibit a marked bleeding tendency 1-6 wks. after the operation. The hemorrhagic syndrome is associated with low blood prothrombin values. The condition can be cured or prevented by the adm. of vit. K concentrates parenterally or orally with bile salts. which are essential to the intestinal absorption of vit. K in the rat. This publication has 6 references indexed in Scilit:
