The Cosmotron data on pion-nucleon reactions suggest the presence of a fairly strong pion-pion interaction near 1 Gev. The cosmic ray experiment performed recently by the Bristol group, when analyzed according to the Landau theory of multiple production, also leads to a similar conclusion.
