Microprocessors?—An End User's View

Abstract
Some typical microprocessors currently sold for use in physiological experimentation are examined. This provides a framework for introducing the jargon and philosophy of the area. Four separate processors, each one more complex and powerful than its predecessor are discussed. Although many microprocessors are advertised, relatively few are easily available in unit quantities to the interested end user. The examples given were chosen with such availability in mind.
