Precocene-2 Effects on the Camel Tick, Hyalomma Dromedarii (Acari: Ixodidae): 1. Adult responses12

Abstract
Precocene-2 (P2) is more toxic to unfed male and female Hyalomma dromedarii when applied by contact than when applied topically. It is more toxic to both sexes when applied on ecdysis day than during feeding. Replete females are less sensitive to P2 than unfed or feeding females. P2 does not alter fertility but causes reduced hatch in eggs from treated females and from untreated females mated with treated males. All observed effects are attributed to P2 toxicity. No evidence of an antijuvenile hormone effect was found.
