Abstract
By means of polyacrylamide gel elec-trophoresis, 3 heritable patterns designated as F, S and FS were demonstrated in blood albumin in the silkworm B. mori larvae. F type was characterized by a single band which migrated more rapidly to the anode than in the S type. F1 hybrid between F and S strains showed an FS type characterized by having both zones, F and S, suggesting that such phenotype is controlled by a pair of codominant autosomal alleles, Alb F and Alb S. It was clarified from linkage analysis that the allele was linked with narrow breast (nb) gene on the 20th chromosome with the crossover value of 6.2+1.02%.
