Interference Method for the Determination of Refractive Indices and Birefringence of Liquid Crystals

Abstract

A new interference method for the determination of refractive indices and briefringence as functions of wavelength is proposed. Application of a spectrophotometer and a specially constructed interferometer makes the measurements easier and enables the determination of refractive indices over a broad spectral region.
