Abstract
• A severely debilitated 38-year-old woman had culture-proved Candida albicans endophthalmitis that resolved after treatment with a single intravitreal injection of 5 μg of amphotericin B and a total of only 190 mg of intravenous amphotericin B. The patient recovered visual acuity of 6/7.5 (20/25), and her electroretinogram was normal 22 months after operation. There was no evidence of a retinal toxic reaction to amphotericin B on long-term follow-up.This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
