Abstract
An easily quantitated substance is injected into the venous side of the vascular bed, and its concentration determined in successive timed samples of the blood of the arterial side. By plotting these successive concentrations against time, it is possible to arrive at a curve whose landmarks give the greater and lesser circulation times, and whose average height gives a figure derived from the dilution of the injected substance by the blood[long dash]a figure which is probably very closely related to the cardiac output. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
