Abstract
Gravitational perturbations in the neighborhood of a point charge can induce electromagnetic radiation even if the symmetry of a configuration indicates that the charge is not moving. Wave equations for the electromagnetic radiation are given in the Newman-Penrose formalism, and the radiation for a simple physical system is calculated and discussed. Keywords
