Abstract
Three pasture experiments and one greenchop experiment were conducted to determine the effect of 0, 50, 100, 200, 300 and 400 mg monensin/head/day upon weight gain and feed efficiency of cattle. Monensin dosages from 100 to 300 mg/head/day improved live weight gain and feed efficiency. A 17% improvement in gain and a 20% improvement in feed efficiency was observed with the 200 mg monensin treatment. Copyright © 1976. American Society of Animal Science .
