COMPOSITION OF MILK FROM GALAGO CRASSICAUDATUS

Abstract
The concentration of major constituents in 1 abnormal and 5 normal samples of milk from Galago crassicaudatus are reported. The high protein content compared to that reported for other primate milks is probably as?sociated with the faster growth rate of the young. One abnormal sample from a mother whose baby had died had a composition suggestive of severe mastitis.
