Abstract
This paper presents an analysis of the role which classical magnetic dipole‐dipole interactions may play in the physical behavior of ferrites with particular attention to magnetic anisotropy. Included is an evaluation of these effects in magnetite and lithium ferrite where an ordered arrangement of dipoles can exist and a study and calculation of some statistical effects which exist in other ferrites where this ordering is absent. The results obtained from this analysis are then compared with the pertinent experimental data. Keywords
