Abstract
The paper describes the activation of the ovaries of Petunia hybrida on 3 levels: changes of the fresh and dry weight, the protein, amino acids and RNA content, the changes of the polyribosome profiles and the protein synthesis in vivo with the polysomal fraction of different developmental stages after pollination. The activation of the ovary after pollination occurs before fertilization takes place and starts with the carpels and the placenta. Keywords
