Abstract
Presentation of CaseA nine-year-old girl was admitted to the hospital because of fever.Two months before entry she had been scratched by a kitten. Two weeks before admission she complained of pain in the groin, and the parents noticed a lump in the left inguinal region. One week later the temperature rose to 101°F. A sulfa drug was administered, but the fever persisted. Two days later periorbital edema and a blotchy, red skin rash developed. The pain in the groin increased. Culture of the urine was negative. The sulfa drug was discontinued, and penicillin was given, without response.The . . .Keywords
