Abstract
Two modifications of the "George Wright" canine tracheal divider are described which make it more useful with out altering its basic principle. Polyethylene tubes replace the rigid brass tubes thus avoiding inadvertent leverage blocking of the right pulmonary artery which lies directly over the carina. Blunted extensor prongs at the divider tip impinge on the carinal junction thus preventing slippage into the main stem bronchi. Keywords
