Abstract
transitions from the J =1, MJ =0 and the J =2, MJ =0 molecular rotational states of 23Na7Li have been observed by the molecular beam electric resonance method at 1–15 MHz. With an experimental linewidth of 7.5 kHz, the nuclear hyperfine pattern consisted of six unresolved doublets. In the beam, originating from a supersonic source, only one vibrational state was observed, which was shown to be the ground vibrational state by measurement of a 23Na6Li spectrum. The ground vibronic Stark coefficient and the molecular electric dipole moment μ0, the equilibrium dipole moment μe, the molecular electric polarizabilities αs and αa, and the two nuclear electric quadrupole coupling constants eqQ were determined in 23Na7Li (using the reported rotational constant ) to be:
