Scattering Theory of Resonance "Mixtures"

Abstract
The scattering amplitude for scattering through several resonances is derived and shown to be always a sum of simple Breit-Wigner terms even for nontrival "particle mixtures." The formalism affords a particularly simple interpretation of the nonexponential decay or "dipole" phenomenon.Keywords
