Abstract
KELLY AND Wendel1 and others2-4 have reported on the effect of the closure of idiopathic macular holes (MHs) on the recovery of visual function after pars plana vitrectomy and gas tamponade. After the successful closure of the holes, many patients gain better visual acuity with the disappearance of the presurgical metamorphopsia.5-7 However, relatively little attention has been paid to the quality of visual function in the presence of MHs, ie, the presurgical visual function. Keywords
