Abstract
Acoustic impedance at the eardrum of fresh human cadavers was measured, using a portable acoustic bridge. Comparison with the acoustic impedance determined with the same method and instrumentation on live subjects shows that the impedance increases considerably after death. Consequently, results obtained on ears of cadavers cannot be applied directly to the middle-ear functions during life. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
