Abstract
The von Krogh equation for the relation between lysin concn. and degree of hemolysis was differentiated algebraically to yield a distribution curve for the susceptibility to lysis among the cells of a given population. The constant 1/n in the von Krogh equation was shown to be an inverse index of uniformity of the population with respect to susceptibility. Variations in the value of 1/n are considered to be indicative of variations in uniformity.
