Spin Orbit Coupling and the Mesonic Lamb Shift

Abstract
It is shown that the self-energy corrections for a nucleon moving in a scalar potential well lead to a strong spin orbit coupling for pseudoscalar mesons. The effect is, however, opposite in sign to that required by the nuclear shell model.Keywords
