Abstract
The histoquantitative method of Chalkley was used to measure the actual volume of each cell type. The data were analyzed searching for correlations between histological features, clinical and pathological features and thyrotropin of the pituitary. A significant correlation was found between TSH (Thyroid stimulating hormone) rate of dying and goiters weighing more than 60 g. The histological typing was not correlated with clinical and biologically pertinent information nor with the TSH content. Keywords
