Abstract

¹⁵ N N.m.r. chemical shift data are reported for a variety of nitroso-compounds. ¹⁵N N.m.r. spectroscopy is evaluated as a method for detecting the formation of N-nitroso- and S-nitroso-compounds in the reactions of aqueous acidic solutions of sodium [¹⁵N]nitrite with model peptides.
