Abstract
Plane xanthomatosis with myelomatosis occurred in a 51-year-old man. The patient had carotenemia, IgG myeloma with immunologic type-L immunoglobulins, and type IV to V lipoprotein pattern. Therapy had only an initial significant effect on the hyperlipidemia but none on the cutaneous xanthomas and the progression of the myelomatosis. The patient has survived more than 21/2 years since the diagnosis of multiple myeloma was made. As suggested by others, myelomatosis with xanthomatosis may run a relatively protracted course. This publication has 1 reference indexed in Scilit:
