Forty-eight cases of subphrenic abscess have been reviewed and their roentgenologic findings analyzed. The important signs are (1) reactive changes in the lungs, pleura, and diaphragm; (2) air in the abscess cavity; and (3) displacement of intra-abdominal viscera.
