Ab initio study of the insertions of CH2 and SiH2 into H2

Abstract

While the insertion of CH₂ into H₂ proceeds with no energy barrier, he SiH₂ insertion has to overcome a 36 kJ mol^–1 barrier, calculated by SCF + MP2 methods.
