Abstract
Transparent PbTiO3 single crystals were successfully grown from the melt. Brownish yellow crystal plates with a diameter of up to 20 mm and 2–3 mm in thickness were obtained. On (100)- and (001)-surface etch pits of about 105 cm−2 revealed the distribution of dislocations and 180° and 90° domains. Measurements of the dielectric constant, the dielectric loss factor as a function of frequency, and the dc resistivity were reported. A modification of the crystal puller suppressing PbO evaporation is shown. Keywords
