Utilization of Disposable Plastic Plates, with a Serologic Microtechnic

Abstract
The use of new disposable plastic plates for performing the serologic microtechnique with spiral loops and droppers resulted in accurate, reproducible complement-fixation, hemagglutination, and hemagglutination-inhibition tests with several viral antigens. Optimal results were obtained when the transparent, plastic plates with round-bottom cups were used for complement-fixation tests and similar plates with conical-bottom cups were used for hemagglutination and hemagglutination-inhibition tests. The new equipment eliminates the need for the extensive washing procedures that were required with the Plexiglas plates, and such features should increase the usefulness of this method.
