Abstract
Experimental data for the absolute reflectivity of pure silver, pure gold, and Ag-Au alloys containing 5, 10, 20, and 50 at.% gold are presented for the spectral region 1.8-5.0 eV. Measurements were made on electropolished bulk samples and the results are discussed in terms of interband transitions. The effects of polishing and surface contamination on the reflectivity are also discussed. Sample preparation and polishing methods are described. Keywords
