Abstract
On the basis of observations on 20 various laboratory animals and 3 human fetuses the nerve supply of the connective tissue sheaths of nerve trunks and spinal roots, as well as that of spinal and sympathetic ganglion capsules is described. In nerve trunks it originated from perivascular plexuses and from fibres of the nerve trunk concerned. The epineurium of the posterior roots received nerve fibres directly from the corresponding spinal ganglia, that of the anterior roots from tiny nerves in their vicinity. Capsules of the ganglia received their fibres from perivascular plexuses and from cells inside the ganglia. Free and encapsulated nerve endings of lamellar type were found.
