Abstract
The proteins of postmortem synovial fluid, as far as investigated, were identical with those of blood plasma. This conclusion was based on the results obtained by the following methods electrophoresis, immunoelectrophoresis, low temperature-low salt-ethanol fractionation and investigation of the obtained fractions. Differences between postmortem synovial fluid and normal human plasma were noted. The relatively increased concentration of certain proteins (albumin and [alpha]1-acid glycoprotein) was explained on the basis of an increased permeability due to the low molecular weights of these proteins. This publication has 19 references indexed in Scilit:
